Cancer Council’s portfolio of events includes a range of iconic and enjoyable fundraisers.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea

Every May more than a million Australians get together for a cuppa for cancer. Morning teas are simple to organise and a fantastic excuse to catch up with colleagues. Guests simply make a donation on the day. Raffles, auctions and competitions can add to the fun and boost the income from your event. All you need to do is nominate a host or hosts, have them register and we will send them a kit to help them on their way.

Hosts can register at www.biggestmorningtea.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.

Daffodil Day

Your company can share in the spirit of Daffodil Day held each year in August. The daffodil is the international symbol of hope for people with cancer and the emblem of Cancer Council. Daffodil Day has 94% brand awareness and is the largest merchandise-based fundraising event in the southern hemisphere.

Simply order merchandise to sell to your customers, clients and staff and/or register to volunteer at a Cancer Council stall by visiting www.daffodilday.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.

If you are interested in becoming a national outlet supporter, with Daffodil Day merchandise counter boxes in all your outlets, please contact our Corporate Partnerships Coordinator on 02 8063 4100.

Pink Ribbon Day

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Australian women with a new case diagnosed every hour.

The pink ribbon has become synonymous with the cause and money raised through Pink Ribbon Day funds breast cancer research, as well as information and support services for those facing the day-to-day challenges of this disease.

Pink Ribbon Day is the fourth most-trusted charity brand and your company can be directly associated with this valuable trademark by contributing a percentage of annual sales from a product or service.

You can also become a national supporting outlet with counter boxes in all your outlets and acknowledgement on our printed materials and website. Please contact our Corporate Partnerships Coordinator on 02 8063 4100.

Or simply order Pink Ribbon Day merchandise to sell to customers and staff throughout October. Visit www.pinkribbonday.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.

Girls Night In

Girls Night In raises awareness of and funds for women’s cancers, including breast and gynaecological cancers. The concept is simple; ‘girls’ get together for a night in and donate what they would have spent on a night out. The event was rolled out in October 2005 with strong support from corporate sponsors and the general public.

This event is experiencing exponential growth and offers great opportunities for companies to reach a younger female audience. You can participate by: providing cash sponsorship; donating products or services for incentive prizes, or host gifts for sampling; or providing a percentage of sales towards the event.

We have various levels of sponsorship and recognition, however sponsorship packages are limited so get in early to register your interest. Call our Corporate Partnerships Coordinator on 02 8063 4100.

You can also encourage your staff to host a Girls Night In. Hosts can register at
www.girlsnightin.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.

Relay For Life

Relay For Life is an outdoor, overnight fundraising event that honours the lives of cancer survivors and remembers those lost to cancer.

Teams of 10-15 people take turns to walk or run around their local oval and camp on-site to share in the fun. The event usually runs for 18 to 24 hours and entertainment and healthy food are all part of the mix.

Relays are held throughout Australia and are a great opportunity for communities, organisations and businesses to show they care about cancer. Relay For Life is now the largest fundraising event in Australia and its potential is unlimited.

Teams actively fundraise before and during the event. Many businesses dollar-match the amounts raised by employees or provide in kind support. This is a great for employers to support staff activities and to donate to the fight against cancer.

Encourage your staff to enter a team, or teams, in the local Relay For Life. For more information about Relay events in your area visit www.relayforlife.org.au

If you would like to become a Relay For Life national corporate partner you will need to commit to entering a minimum number of Relay teams nationally. Call our Corporate Partnerships Coordinator on 02 8063 4100.
