After completing the module, you will be able to:
- Identify the symptoms associated with bowel cancer
- Identify bowel cancer risk factors and list measures to reduce bowel cancer risk
- Identify who is eligible for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program and how often patients should be screened
- Understand your duty of care in relation to patients in the program and those currently ineligible for the program
- Identify the type of FOBT the program uses
- Understand the process for dissemination of FOBT kits to eligible people
- Manage queries about using an FOBT
- Understand how to manage patients with a positive or negative FOBT result
- Obtain general practice assessment forms and submit forms to the register.
Members who complete this course will be able to claim 1 CPD hour.
