After completing the module, you will be able to:

  • Identify the symptoms associated with bowel cancer
  • Identify bowel cancer risk factors and list measures to reduce bowel cancer risk
  • Identify who is eligible for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program and how often patients should be screened
  • Understand your duty of care in relation to patients in the program and those currently ineligible for the program
  • Identify the type of FOBT the program uses
  • Understand the process for dissemination of FOBT kits to eligible people
  • Manage queries about using an FOBT
  • Understand how to manage patients with a positive or negative FOBT result
  • Obtain general practice assessment forms and submit forms to the register.

Members who complete this course will be able to claim 1 CPD hour.
