Partnership type
Pro bono support
Partnership history
Toll Group supported Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon Day for the first time in 2011.
Objectives
Toll Group wanted to:
- demonstrate its social responsibility and alignment with a cause of concern to customers, shareholders, staff and the community
- help Cancer Council increase cost efficiencies through its core service, efficiently transporting goods to multiple locations.
What we have achieved together so far
Toll IPEC provided pro bono delivery of 16,000 shipments and 45 tonnes of Pink Ribbon Day merchandise boxes to Cancer Council's corporate partners and supporters across Australia. The estimated value of this service was more than $100,000 – a significant fundraising cost saving for Cancer Council. Toll gained recognition of its support through Cancer Council event promotions and social media. Toll also promoted its partnership with Cancer Council through internal staff and corporate communications to reinforce its commitment to community to staff and other stakeholders.
How Toll helps fight cancer
Toll used its transport and infrastructure network to deliver Pink Ribbon Day merchandise to points of sale nationally at no charge. Removing this otherwise significant cost enabled Cancer Council to ensure proceeds from merchandise sales go directly to breast cancer research, prevention and support services. Toll also encouraged staff to directly support Pink Ribbon Day, selling merchandise in its head offices across Australia and holding Pink morning teas. Toll's support was acknowledged in Pink Ribbon Day media and publicity and on Cancer Council's popular social media platforms, boosting brand affiliation.
Why Toll supports Cancer Council
"Toll IPEC is proud to support Pink Ribbon Day."
"Toll provides pro bono transport and logistics services to many causes, whether responding to an international crisis or local needs. Given the impact of cancer on the Australian community – including the Toll community – this is a simple and effective way for us to support Cancer Council's fundraising efforts and we're more than happy to assist."
"We look forward to a long and successful partnership."
