Celebrity chefs join Australia's Biggest Morning Tea party
Celebrity chefs Stephanie Alexander, Manu Feildel, Peter Evans and Tobie Puttock have come together to share their favourite healthy morning tea recipes and invite the nation to join them in the fight against cancer this May.
The Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea ambassadors will join over a million Australians on May 24th to share a cuppa for a cause in Cancer Council’s popular fundraiser. By getting involved you can show your support for the estimated 110,000 people who will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
Renowned chef, author & restaurateur Pete Evans said, "Sadly cancer has a common touch amongst Australians and no one is immune. By supporting Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea we can all contribute to research and hopefully one day crack the code".
Across Australia, workplaces, schools, communities and homes will join the celebrations with funds raised contributing to vital cancer research, prevention and support services. TV presenter and cancer survivor Barry Du Bois has experienced first-hand the effects of cancer and is proud to make his cup count this May. “I know better than anyone that cancer can stop you in a hurry. So no matter where I am, on May 24 I’ll be downing tools and joining friends and family for a great morning tea,” Barry said.
Funds raised will go to help beat cancer. Just $5 can help support a newly diagnosed patient while $500 can help fund ground-breaking research into better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. These breakthroughs aim to reverse the alarming statistic that one in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85.
