Morning Tea Masterclass for a cause!

Celebrity chefs Adam Liaw and Miguel Maestre chef up a storm for Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

Celebrity chefs Miguel Maestre and Adam Liaw will give six lucky winners of Cancer Council’s ‘Masterclass’ competition, a ‘money can’t buy’ experience and a morning to remember on 13th July.

The competition formed part of this year’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea campaign, where entrants were asked to name of one the chefs hosting the Morning Tea Masterclass. The lucky winners were then offered a trip to Sydney and the chance to learn from the best*.

The six winners from all over Australia are invited to The Essential Ingredient in Rozelle on 13th July where they will be treated to an interactive cooking demonstration by masters of the kitchen Miguel Maestre and Adam Liaw.

Miguel says he never realised how cancer could change your perspective on life until it affected his family. “I will do anything to help raise money for Cancer Council and cooking is what I do best so hopefully with all my amazing cooking we can raise lots of money towards cancer research.”

Adam Liaw is also thrilled to be an ambassador for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and says he is supporting Cancer Council to raise awareness for those affected by cancer around Australia, and also to encourage people to give more in the fight to beat cancer.

Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is one of Australia’s most popular fundraisers with over a million people participating each year. Held each May, the event plays a vital role in raising money towards Cancer Council’s work in research, prevention and patient support.

Since its inception in 1994, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea has raised over $100 million. To date, this year’s event has raised in excess of $11 million.

Cancer Council CEO Professor Ian Olver, said that the money will go far in the Cancer Council’s mission to understand, control and prevent cancer, as well as support those affected by cancer and their families.

“It’s wonderful to have such enthusiastic support from Miguel and Adam, but also from everyday Australians from across the country. Every dollar counts towards minimising the burden of cancer.” Prof. Olver said.
