The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program is an Australian Government cancer screening program. Other government cancer screening programs in Australia are the BreastScreen Australia and National Cervical Screening Programs.
Bowel cancer screening is designed to check for the early signs of bowel cancer in people who do not have any obvious symptoms, but are at higher risk of developing bowel cancer because they are in the 50-74 age group.
Through the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program, all Australians aged 50-74 will receive a free at-home bowel screening test in the mail every two years. This test is simple, quick and hygienic – it could save your life.
