A Guide to Cervical Screening Tests in Australia

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. Screening is the best way to catch it early.

Routine testing could save your life

Anyone with a cervix, aged 25-74 is eligible for a screening test. You can have a healthcare provider collect your screening sample or collect your own. Both are simple and equally effective. The sample is taken from the vagina, using a simple swab which is then checked for human papillomavirus (HPV).
