Clinical practice guidelines for the prevention, early detection and management of colorectal cancer
Review and update of Clinical practice guidelines for the prevention, early detection and management of colorectal cancer
In 2022, Cancer Council Australia was contracted by the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care (the Department) to review and update selected chapters of the 2017 Clinical practice guidelines for the prevention, early detection and management of colorectal cancer (hereafter the Guidelines), namely the chapters titled: Population screening for colorectal cancer, and Risk and screening based on family history.
This review includes consideration of population health screening issues, the clinical and cost effectiveness of using iFOBTs as the principle screening mechanism, alternative screening techniques, evidence for maintaining or changing the existing 50-74 age cohort, and risk and screening strategies based on family history.
Public consultation feedback on the draft chapters of this guideline is now closed. Unfortunately, no late submissions will be accepted.
