World Cancer Day

Come join us for the ‘Conquering Cancer’ documentary screening

White background with orange logo and writing saying World Cancer Day 4 February.

World Cancer Day held every 4 February is a global initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). By raising worldwide awareness, improving education and coordinating individual, collective and government action, we are all working together to imagine a world without cancer, where everyone has access to life-saving cancer treatment and cancer care is available to everyone - no matter who you are or where you live.

Each year, hundreds of activities and events take place around the world, gathering communities, organisations and individuals in schools, businesses, hospitals, marketplaces, parks, community halls, places of worship - in the streets and online - acting as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in reducing the global impact of cancer.

Cancer Council NT has partnered with Darwin Entertainment Centre, Darwin Convention Centre, City of Darwin and City of Palmerston who will be lighting up each of their venues in blue in recognition of World Cancer Day.

Join us on 4 February at any of these venues, take a photo and upload to your social media. Don’t forget to add the following hashtags to your posting #worldcancerday, #closethecaregap, #cancercouncilnt and help close the cancer care gap for a cancer-free world.

Our time to act is now….
