Campaign Officer (Partnerships)

Sydney, NSW

Full time, 12-month contract

About Cancer Council Australia

Cancer Council Australia is the nation’s leading non-government cancer control organisation, focused on reducing the impact of cancer through research, prevention, and support. We work alongside the community, health professionals, and government to provide trusted information and services to those affected by cancer. With a mission to save lives and create a cancer-free future, Cancer Council offers a purpose-driven workplace where everyone can make a meaningful difference to help improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

About the role

Cancer Council Australia is seeking a Campaigns Officer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to large scale, integrated campaigns that reach millions of Australian and aim to reduce the incidence and mortality of cancer. You will bring a strong understanding of integrated marketing, hands-on content development experience for media and brand partnerships and campaign creative development experience that will shape our marketing activities.

Our national campaigns feature integrated partnerships with major commercial networks, media publishers, events, festivals and brands, which are created with the support of our agency village. You will be a key contact for those partners, coordinating content development, timelines, approvals and helping ensure everything we produce is on brand, on strategy, grounded in evidence.

With the support of the Senior Campaign Manager, you will work across the full arc of the campaign from briefing to reporting, with a specialist concentration on content development and delivery. You will draft and adapt campaign copy for a range of formats, including video, radio, podcast, social media and digital ads and provide first-pass reviews of content from our partners. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys the craft of getting a message right, and who is interested in the challenge of communicating health information in ways that generate action.

This is an opportunity to make genuine, measurable impact, delivering work that makes a real difference to the lives of Australians. If it piques your interest, we would love to hear from you (even if your experience doesn't quite hit all the listed requirements).

About you

You are a capable communicator with a knack for engaging diverse audiences. You thrive in fast-paced environments, and you are motivated by working on something that matters. You bring:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in marketing, communications, media, content production & delivery.

  • Experience supporting the delivery of integrated campaigns, including content development across formats such as social media, digital, broadcast, audio and editorial.

  • Demonstrated writing and editing experience with the ability to adapt messaging to the required platform, objective and audience.

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines and approval processes.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience collaborating across teams and agencies.

  • Working knowledge of campaign performance measurement and reporting.

  • An interest in campaign strategy, and the ability to connect day-to-day delivery to the bigger picture.

  • Commitment to the purpose and values of Cancer Council Australia.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Media or related field.

  • Experience working on government or public health campaigns is desirable.
