This chapter of the National Cancer Prevention Policy presents information related to ultraviolet radiation and skin cancer, and policies to encourage sun protection behaviours and reduce skin cancer incidence.

It has been reviewed internally by the National Skin Cancer Committee of Cancer Council Australia and externally by Professor David Whiteman, Medical Epidemiologist, Acting Director, QIMR Berghofer and Professor Monika Janda, Behavioural Scientist, Centre for Health Services Research, University of Queensland. It has been approved by Cancer Council’s principal Public Health Committee in September 2020.
