About Cancer Council Australia

Cancer Council Australia is the nation’s leading non-government cancer control organisation, focused on reducing the impact of cancer through research, prevention, and support. We work alongside the community, health professionals, and government to provide trusted information and services to those affected by cancer. With a mission to save lives and create a cancer free future, Cancer Council offers a purpose driven workplace where everyone can make a meaningful difference to help improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

About the role

The Cancer Control Campaigns & Communications division is responsible for delivering trusted, evidence-based information, behaviour change campaigns and digital experiences that improve cancer outcomes across Australia. Working closely with Cancer Councils across the Federation, the division develops innovative communications and digital solutions that increase awareness, support informed decision-making and ensure Australians have access to reliable cancer information wherever they choose to engage.

We are seeking a Digital Product Manager to manage, optimise and continuously improve Cancer Council Australia's digital platforms and websites. Reporting to the Head of Digital & Content, you will translate organisational priorities into digital product initiatives and manage the delivery of enhancements across our digital ecosystem. Working with content specialists, developers, agencies and stakeholders across the Cancer Council Federation, you will help deliver accessible, user-centred digital experiences that support millions of Australians seeking trusted cancer information and support.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing evolution of one of Australia's most trusted health websites and digital platforms, driving continuous improvement through audience insights, analytics, SEO, AI discoverability (GEO/AEO) and emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing website enhancements, platform upgrades, integrations and platform transition activities, including future migration projects.
  • Developing and maintaining digital product roadmaps aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Using analytics, audience insights and user research to drive product decisions and optimisation.
  • Partnering with agencies, developers and technical suppliers to deliver high-quality digital outcomes.
  • Managing relationships with hosting and platform partners, including supporting the ongoing operation and performance of Cancer Council Australia's web infrastructure and digital platforms.
  • Championing accessibility, usability, SEO, AI discoverability (GEO/AEO) and digital governance best practice.
  • Leading and supporting Digital Producers while promoting agile ways of working.
  • Monitoring emerging digital trends and identifying opportunities to improve user experience, operational efficiency and organisational capability.

About you

You are an experienced digital product professional who enjoys solving complex problems, improving user experiences and delivering high-quality digital products. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and are comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams. Using analytics, audience insights and stakeholder input, you translate business needs into practical digital solutions and drive continuous improvement across digital platforms.

You are collaborative, curious and proactive, with a strong understanding of digital product management, accessibility, SEO, AI discoverability (GEO/AEO), digital governance and agile delivery, and are excited by the opportunity to shape digital experiences that have a genuine impact on the lives of millions of Australians

You bring:

  • 4-7 years’ experience managing digital products, websites or digital platforms, with the ability to develop and deliver product roadmaps that balance user needs, business priorities and technical requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused recommendations.
  • Experience working collaboratively with developers, agencies and cross-functional teams to successfully deliver digital initiatives using agile or iterative delivery approaches.
  • A strong understanding of digital best practice, including accessibility (WCAG), SEO, AI discoverability (GEO/AEO), digital governance and user-centred design.
  • Experience using analytics, audience insights and performance data to identify opportunities, measure success and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring others, fostering innovation and championing digital best practice across teams.
  • A genuine passion for leveraging digital technologies to improve customer experiences and contribute to Cancer Council Australia's mission of reducing the impact of cancer
