Cancer Connect: Helping you navigate a complex cancer care system

Connecting you to your next step

Cancer is hard, but finding support shouldn’t be. Knowing where to go and when to get support can be overwhelming.

Cancer Council is a key place for you, and the people you care for can turn to for trusted support.

When you get the cancer information and support you need, you have the best chance of coping with challenges of life and cancer.

Cancer Connect is Cancer Council’s national cancer navigation service, designed to help people better navigate a complex cancer care system.

13 11 20 is expanding. The phone number you're familiar with is still available as part of an enhanced multi-channel service, named Cancer Connect.

Cancer Connect will help improve equity, ensuring anyone affected by cancer can access support, regardless of postcode, background or cancer type, in line with the Australian Cancer Plan.

Through Cancer Connect, we will continue to provide free, confidential, and culturally safe information and support, with more ways to connect - by phone, online or mobile.

The service will be a key entry point, connecting people to local support professionals and specialist organisations. Our qualified professionals listen, answer questions, and guide people to trusted information and tailored support.

It will make it easier for anyone affected by cancer to get the right information when they need it.

We’re here, so no one faces cancer alone.

Nearly one in four Australians (24%) who use Cancer Council’s support services come via a healthcare professional recommendation.

Qualified professionals staff Cancer Council’s 13 11 20 service. They listen, answer questions, and guide people to evidence-based information and support services that meet their needs.

Cancer Connect is a free service for anyone affected by cancer, whether facing a diagnosis, living beyond cancer, or supporting someone as a career, friend, family member or health professional.

You can continue to refer patients to 13 11 20 for free confidential information and support or go online.
