Transport & Administration Officer

Cancer Council Tasmania

Devonport, TAS
Part-Time Position
 |
Applications close 14 July 2025

Cancer Council Tasmania is here for all Tasmanians who turn to us for support. Whether this is for one-on-one emotional support, group sessions, transporting people to treatment or providing financial support and complimentary therapies.

Our transport2treatment program (t2t) is an integral service, supporting Tasmanians requiring transport assistance to access cancer related appointments and treatment. Due to service expansion, we are now recruiting for a Transport & Administration Officer to join us in our Devonport offices.

This is a significant and rewarding community focused role. You will be responsible for organising t2t for clients, including coordinating volunteer drivers, vehicles and treatment schedules (using our Trips Transport software) to deliver an efficient and reliable service.

The role also provides administrative support and office management to the Devonport office and is an initial point of visitor contact, providing a calm and supportive front-of-house presence for those Tasmanians impacted by cancer.

About You

Having previous experience in a client-facing or customer service role is pretty important as you'll be required to be the front of house person, both in person and on the phone for clients and stakeholders. Essentially you will be a self-motivated person who handles pressure effectively, has exceptional time-management skills and a keen attention to detail. You will also need to be tech savvy, highly proficient in MS office programs and preferably have scheduling/rostering experience. Training in the Trips Transport software will be provided as this is an essential part of the role.

You’ll also get to work with a committed team of staff and volunteers who are delivering these essential services. So you’ll need to be self-organised, a skilled and compassionate communicator and bring a caring and positive attitude to your daily work.

This role would suit someone who is looking for part-time work. At 0.8 FTE, flexibility is offered to also work around other commitments.

Having cancer is hard, but getting support should not be – and the work that CCT does has a life-long impact on thousands of Tasmanians. Personally you’ll get to make a difference in people’s lives every day. So we look forward to welcoming people wanting to work for an organisation that is fiercely committed to making a difference in the lives of others.
