Learn about our upcoming enhancement
We’re enhancing and expanding our cancer information and support service, 13 11 20, to improve access and equity.
As part of the Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program, Cancer Council will be offering new ways for more people affected by cancer to access support and information tailored to their needs.
We know that increasing accessibility will help more people affected by cancer get the support they need and improve cancer outcomes – this is particularly important to better support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people living in regional and remote locations or from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those who identify as LGBTQIA+, or who live with a disability.
That’s why we’re enhancing and expanding our service to create a more culturally safe, connected and empowering experience, tailored to individual needs, so that no one faces cancer alone Whether someone is looking for practical advice, emotional support or evidence-based cancer information, this enhanced service will be easier to access, with options including telephone, desktop or smartphone. The service will be a key point of entry that can refer people on to further support including local cancer nurses, healthcare professionals and other specialist cancer organisations.
You’ll start to see enhancements to Cancer Council’s 13 11 20 support service and new ways to find the support you need.
Check back here regularly for more information as it becomes available.
