About Cancer Council Australia
Cancer Council Australia is the nation’s leading non-government cancer control organisation, focused on reducing the impact of cancer through research, prevention, and support. We work alongside the community, health professionals, and government to provide trusted information and services to those affected by cancer. With a mission to save lives and create a cancer-free future, Cancer Council offers a purpose-driven workplace where everyone can make a meaningful difference to help improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.
About the role
The Cancer Navigation Service is a key component of the Australian Government’s Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program (ACNNP). This national initiative is enhancing and expanding Cancer Council’s existing information and support services to provide more timely, equitable, and culturally safe access to information, navigation, and support for anyone impacted by cancer. The project aims to integrate, strengthen, and digitalise navigation pathways, offering new ways for people to connect with support that best meets their needs now and into the future.
We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Digital Producer with strong CMS experience to support the delivery of an exciting new cancer website for people affected by cancer and healthcare professionals. Sitting within the Website Stream, you’ll be responsible for migrating and producing content within Optimizely CMS in line with ambitious release sprints. You’ll ensure content is accurate, well-structured and ready for release, working closely with subject matter experts and project stakeholders to incorporate feedback and maintain Cancer Council’s standards for evidence-based cancer information.
You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance user experience, addressing content gaps, and supporting quality assurance and testing. The Digital Producer will uphold best practice in UX, accessibility, performance and SEO, helping ensure the site provides the best possible experience for people navigating cancer care in Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Upload and manage content in line with a defined content model, site map and release timeline.
- Format and publish images and media to maintain performance and accessibility.
- Manage internal and external linking and contribute to content release planning.
- Conduct continuous testing and contribute to QA/UAT/accessibility testing sprints.
- Implement rapid fixes to content, HTML or CSS where required.
- Make basic graphic design updates and minor HTML/CSS edits.
- Work with content authors and the Content Strategist to ensure content supports strategy, SEO and AI optimisation.
- Manage tickets and report on progress against project milestones, collaborating closely across streams and with external agencies as needed
