About the role
The Cancer Navigation Service is a key component of the Australian Government’s Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program (ACNNP). This national initiative is enhancing and expanding Cancer Council’s existing information and support services to provide more timely, equitable, and culturally safe access to information, navigation, and support for anyone impacted by cancer. The project aims to integrate, strengthen, and digitalise navigation pathways, offering new ways for people to connect with support that best meets their needs now and into the future.
We are seeking an experienced Brand Project Manager to lead the delivery of a new brand identity that reflects the expanded scope and ambition of the Cancer Navigation Service. Sitting within the Cancer Control Campaigns & Communications Division. This is a high-profile role responsible for managing a complex, multi-stakeholder branding project in a federated environment.
Working closely with the Senior Brand Manager and various governance committees , you will ensure brand deliverables are achieved on time, within budget and to a high standard, while effectively managing risk and stakeholder expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead stakeholder engagement for the development of a new national brand identity
- Consult widely across the Cancer Council federation, Cancer control sector, Healthcare workers and priority audiences
- Build strong, trusted relationships to drive alignment, consensus and timely decision-making
- Manage creative, media and specialist agency contracts and supplier performance
- Oversee a multi-million-dollar brand development budget and timeline
- Coordinate creative production, ensuring assets are delivered to brief, on time and within budget
- Lead and contribute to third-party briefs and agency engagement
- Provide clear leadership to project contributors, setting expectations and ensuring accountability
- Coordinate meetings, reporting, presentations and stakeholder communications
- Lead strategic reporting of brand campaign activity
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes across the project lifecycle.
About you
You are a seasoned Brand or Marketing Project Manager with strong leadership, collaboration and stakeholder management skills. You are comfortable working in complex environments, juggling competing priorities and delivering high-impact work to tight timelines.
You bring:
- Extensive experience in project management within a Marketing or Communications environment
- Proven ability to manage external agencies and suppliers
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with senior leaders and executive groups
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, timely and strategic updates
- Strong project leadership and organisational skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Experience managing complex budgets and delivery schedules
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Monday.com and Asana
- Experience creating stakeholder presentations.
Desirable experience includes:
- Experience in Public health, Cancer control or Government funded programs
- Experience working in federated or multi-agency environments
- Exposure to priority audience communications, including First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse communities
- Commitment to purpose-driven work and social impact.
